The effective coefficients in the Maxwell's equations are calculated for a multiscale isotropic medium using a subgrid modeling approach. The correlated fields of conductivity and permeability are mathematically represented by the Kolmogorov multiplicative continuous cascade with a lognormal probability distribution. It is assumed that the wavelength is much greater than the maximum scale of the inhomogeneous medium. The theoretical results are compared with direct 3D numerical simulations.
